Board Members

Ms. Menbere Zena is a retiree after long service of 45 years.  She got her Intermediate Diploma in Administration with Very Great Distinction from Addis Ababa Commercial School (Now College) in 1965. Her Undergraduate degree in Executive Secretarial Science and in Business Administration and Management in 1974 from Addis Ababa University (then Haile Sellassie I University). 

She was employed at the Addis Ababa University (then Haile I Selassie University) in July 1965 and worked there as Secretary and Executive Secretary up to 1977.  In July 1979 she joined the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) as a Stenographer and progressed through being a Personnel Assistant, Human Resources Assistant and Human Resources Officer and worked there in various capacities until she retired in September 2005.  While still with the UNECA as her Parent Office, she was assigned on missions to Buea, Cameroon for one year as an Administrative Officer for a Translators Training Program; to the former Yugoslavia (UNPROFOR & UNTEAS) for four years; to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Office in Rwanda as a Program Coordinator in Kigali, Rwanda for seven months; and to the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), Arusha Tanzania for over five years.

After her retirement in September 2005, Ms. Menbere worked as an Administrative Officer for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) from January 2006 to December 2007 as an Administrative Officer. After that she worked for about six years on consultancy capacity in Human Resources with her former parent office UNECA, Addis Ababa.

Ms. Menbere Zena now engages herself fully with humanitarian and voluntary activities.
